Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 5, 2026
Track Stock is a barcode scanning inventory tool. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what data we access, what we do with it, and what we never do.
1. What We Access
When you sign in with Google, Track Stock requests access to:
- Google Sheets — to create and write to your inventory spreadsheet
- Google Drive (drive.file) — limited scope to create a single spreadsheet in your Drive
- Your basic profile — name, email, and profile picture for display purposes only
2. What We Do With Your Data
- Your Google OAuth token is used only to write barcode scan data to your spreadsheet
- Product data (name, ASIN, pricing) is fetched from third-party sources and written directly to your sheet
- Your token is stored in your browser's localStorage — it never leaves your device to our servers permanently
- We do not store your token, email, or any personal data on our servers
3. What We Never Do
- We never read, modify, or delete any existing files in your Google Drive
- We never access any Google Sheets other than the one Track Stock creates
- We never sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties
- We never store your Google credentials or personal information on our servers
- We never send you marketing emails or share your email with anyone
4. Third-Party Services
Track Stock uses third-party product data services to look up product names, ASINs, and pricing information by barcode. No personal data is sent to these services — only the barcode number is used for the lookup.
5. Data Storage
All inventory data is stored exclusively in your own Google Sheet — in your Google account, under your control. You can delete your sheet at any time to remove all data. Track Stock does not maintain any database of user inventory.
Your Google access token and sheet ID are stored in your browser's localStorage only, and are cleared when you sign out.
6. Revoking Access
You can revoke Track Stock's access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing Track Stock from the list of connected apps.
7. Children's Privacy
Track Stock is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Track Stock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
